Commission Terms

These terms are intended to keep freelance commission work clear, fair, and respectful for both parties.

1. Licence & Ownership

Upon full payment, the client receives a perpetual licence to use the commissioned assets within their game, including future updates, DLC, ports, sequels, remasters, or continued development of the same project.

The client may sell, transfer, or hand over the game and its included assets to another developer, publisher, or company involved with the continued ownership or development of that same game. No additional permission or notice is required.

The commissioned assets may not be resold, redistributed, relicensed, or published as standalone assets or asset packs on marketplaces or distribution platforms, including but not limited to ArtStation, Fab, Unity Asset Store, Unreal Marketplace, Gumroad, itch.io asset stores, or similar services, without written permission from PixelQubed.

2. Design Direction

The supplied design document will be used as the primary guide for the commission. Reasonable artistic interpretation may be used where needed to maintain quality and consistency unless specific requirements have been agreed beforehand.

3. Revisions

Up to three revision rounds are included within the agreed scope. Additional revisions, major redesigns, or scope changes may require an additional quote, which will be discussed and agreed before extra work begins.

4. Communication

Both parties agree to communicate respectfully, clearly, and honestly throughout the commission. Feedback should be constructive, and concerns should be raised as early as possible so they can be resolved efficiently.

5. Payment

Payment is split into two instalments: 50% upfront before work begins, and 50% upon completion before final delivery. Work begins once the initial payment has been received.

6. Delivery

Final assets will be delivered in the agreed formats after final payment has been received. Unless otherwise agreed in writing, editable source files such as layered files, project files, or procedural working files are not included.

7. Portfolio Rights

PixelQubed may display completed commissioned work in portfolios, social media, websites, showreels, or other promotional material. If the project has not yet been publicly announced or released, the work will not be shown publicly until the client has announced or released the project, or has provided written permission.

8. Acceptance

By paying the deposit or confirming acceptance in writing, the client agrees to these commission terms.
